BEBE REXHA

Even if you don't know the name Bebe Rexha yet, you'd probably recognize her voice and definitely know lyrics she's written. The 26 year old Brooklyn-born, Staten Island-raised singer/songwriter has penned hits for everyone from Eminem ("The Monster") to David Guetta ("Hey Mama") and helped usher in a new era of emotive pop music in the process.

Rexha has been musical since she was a kid, but her first major break came in 2010 when Pete Wentz tapped her to front his experimental short-lived alt-electro band, Black Cards. But whether pop or alt-electron, both are a far cry from Rexha's roots, which are firmly based in classic New York hip-hop. As an aspiring songwriter, Rexha got her start writing for New York City hip-hop producers, an experience she credits with the development of a sound that blatantly eschews the typical "pop-pop-pop song" format, as she puts it.
After months of building up her growing fan base and climbing the charts, Bebe Rexha embarked on her first headlining tour to support the first half of her two-part album, All Your Fault, which was released in February 2017. While this is Rexha's first solo project, she has collaborated with rapper G-Easy for the 2016 hit single "Me, Myself & I," which peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100.
On the transition from collaborator and songwriter to full-on solo artist. Rexha tells Billboard, "It feels really good. 'Me, Myself & I' was G-Easy and I was featured on it. I wrote it, but it didn't feel like it was all mine, and this kind of feels like it's all mine. It's scary, though, because if you fail, you fail with it. If you win, you win, you win with it."
